I’ve worked with the Toronto International Film Festival (tiff) since 2003, both as full-time Lead Graphic Designer and on an ongoing contract basis, on print, digital and motion-graphic projects. As the Digital Designer, I create  pre-show content for their cinemas, HD digital advertisements, and motion graphic idents for tiff industry online programming.

Cinematheque Ontario

Cinematheque Ontario (now tiff.cinematheque) is renowned internationally for curating the best cinema from all over the globe. My job was to help expand its local audience without alienating its fiercely loyal core audience. This was accomplished via online, print and outdoor advertising, brochures and a seasonal programme guide.

Sprockets

Sprockets Film Festival needed a new visual identity and, after several attempts with agencies, gave me ten days to design a new look and feel for the seven-day event for 4-16 year-olds. Borrowing from their established colour palette, I gave the brand a fresh, energetic look that would connect with boys and girls of any age, and be used across all touchpoints in upcoming years.

My role as Lead Graphic Designer at tiff involved the conceptualization and design of editorial and advertising products, including onscreen pre-show content, outdoor & POS signage and posters, advertisements, brochures, and Art Direction of the 450-page programme book and Universal Studio‘s Festival Daily newspaper.
